RE: Help with Corporate Welcome Page Deployment ~Sean Ekfanamaroden 20.May.03 04:18 PM a Web browser Domino Administrator 6.0.1Windows 2000, Windows NT
Hi Tom,
We have managed to successfully deploy a corporate welcome page in R6, but not without extreme difficulty and LOTS of time with tech support.
Some of our users get the new welcome page as soon as they convert to R6. For some others, I need to go in and change their policy settings then change them back again after they have first connected with R6. Then there are the really stubborn ones.
After much head-banging, tech support finally came up with this solution for the users who, no matter what I do, don't get the new welcome page: Create a brand-new local address book for these users! Believe or not, this has worked in every case. Sometimes, I have to go reset their policy settings again in the corporate directory, but most of the time, this is all it takes. Nobody could tell me why this works, but it seems to, at least for us.
Be sure to create a new one, copy any entries from the old one like connections, locations, groups and contacts that they want to keep, then quit Notes and rename the new one to names.nsf after moving the old one away or deleting it.
